Japan has an overwhelming share in the market of industrial imaging,
but why doesn't a standardization group such as AIA and EMVA exist
in Japan? This subject was discussed among several members gathered
from camera makers, board makers and system integrators in the
beginning of September, 2005. And it came to a conclusion that
the standardization in Japan should be organized.
After that, the number of the members was increased and they started
formally the preparatory committee for the establishment of Japan
Industrial Imaging Association (JIIA). The information about this
committee was widely disseminated at International Technical Exhibition
on Image Technology and Equipment in December 2005 and in various
journals.
JIIA was formally established in the general meeting of members
at KKR Hotel Tokyo on March 27, 2006.
Establishment found for JIIA was raised from companies, and JIIA
completed the registration as a limited liability cooperative
non-profit corporation to Legal Affairs Bureau on April 18.
In first general meeting of staff members at Pacifico Yokohama
on June 6, activity plans and the annual budget of 2006 were approved,
and each committee and its subcommittees have started their activities.
